ABOUT US

Committed to Service for Over a Century

In the aftermath of Georgetown, Kentucky's 1896 downtown fire, the historic Queen Anne-style building was erected at 158 East Main Street. Appropriately enough, it was in this building that the fire insurance agency Kelly & Craig first opened its doors in 1874. That same building still houses the offices of the original company, now known as Craig & Hall Insurance Agency, Inc. Like the building at 158 East Main Street, Craig & Hall Insurance has been a symbol of continuity and commitment to service for over a century.
Henry Craig, the founder of the company, ran advertising in the February 2, 1898 edition of the Georgetown Times which read:

“Provide for a Rainy Day and place enough insurance on your home or other property to liquidate your loss in case of accident. The man whose hindsight is better than his foresight is the man sure to get left. We will place insurance for you in a reliable company at a small premium, which will be adjusted and paid promptly if you have a loss by fire.”

Adhering to this simple but sensible philosophy, Craig & Hall Insurance has never fallen behind the times. Today, it is a company steeped in tradition but always looking to the future. In addition to the company’s original purpose of providing fire insurance, Craig & Hall Insurance has grown to meet the challenges of the changing world by offering a wide selection of insurance policies. The company’s old motto of “Nothing but the Best” is as true today as it has been for generations.
